It never was a problem to me really, because I've known ever since Bush held that Mission Accomplished sign--for NOTHING--that this whole war thing has been a waste of our time, and money respectively. But what is truly frightening to me is the few Americans who think beyond the price of gas, beyond our borders, hell the VERY few who even know how horribly we are treating our veterans. It is deplorable. Our country swore "never again" and yet what we are doing to the vets of Irag and Afghanistan is unbelievable. We are wholly unprepared as a nation for the return of these soldiers and the care of our wounded, and the military is offering so many "early outs" without counsel as to the fact that these discharges also mean you are signing away your rights to benefits, etc. It is gross negligence. Add to that the vets who can't get care because the system is overwhelmed, etc. It is deplorable. Well written.
